JBS USA Headquarters

United Way Cornerstone Partner

As a long-term, Cornerstone Partner of United Way, the JBS USA corporate headquarters in Greeley, CO, champions an annual campaign to support the local community through United Way of Weld County (UWWC) efforts. This year, the company raised $406,555 – the highest amount since 2015. To ensure 100 percent of team member donations go straight to the programs, JBS USA covered all administrative and fundraising costs for the resources under UWWC’s management.

Of the total donations, $100,000 will support the 2019 campaign’s primary cause: offering local children Colorado Reading Corps, an evidence-based nationally implemented program that helps students build literacy skills and increase reading proficiency. As a result of JBS USA’s donations, 10 full-time, yearlong, AmeriCorps trained tutors now provide daily one-on-one sessions to Weld County students in kindergarten through third grade.

The remaining $276,274 raised will assist additional UWWC programs in Youth Success, Household Stability, Older Adults and Healthy Aging and Access to Services such as 2-1-1 Colorado, a confidential and multilingual service connecting people to vital resources across the state.

To support all of these special causes, the Greeley office hosted an annual golf tournament, chicken wing eating contest, bowling tournament and silent auction, as well as several barbecue lunches and ice cream socials. Additionally, Pilgrim’s team members took the time to complete 13 quiet books and 144 bookmarks for Colorado Reading Corps.
